Why Written in the Waves?

Written in the Waves carves space for women to share and engage with Atlantic history. Vivian’s interests in the Atlantic stem from growing up in the Maritimes. Living in Nova Scotia for most of her life, she has been in close proximity to the ocean, which continues to shape her view of history. One cannot study or live in the Atlantic provinces without acknowledging how the waters shape the past and present.
